Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak has reiterated his government’s commitment to forging strategic partnerships with the private sector, particularly banks and financial institutions.
During a meeting with representatives of Yemeni banks and financial institutions participating in the 2024 Arab Banking Conference in Doha, bin Mubarak highlighted the importance of expanding investment opportunities aligned with the government's five-track vision for future development. He emphasized the government's ongoing efforts in financial and administrative reform, as well as anti-corruption measures, to create a favorable environment for private sector operations. He sees the private sector as a key partner in achieving economic stability and national development.
The Prime Minister was briefed on the conference agenda, which focused on the role of banks and financial institutions in contributing to sustainable development, the banking sector's role in financing development and digital inclusion, and other relevant topics.
Several representatives from Yemeni banks and financial institutions participated in the 2024 Arab Banking Conference, held in Doha on September 10-11 under the patronage of the Qatar Central Bank and organized by the Arab Bankers Federation. The conference’s theme was "Requirements for Sustainable Development and the Role of Banks."
Bin Mubarak, who arrived in Qatar on a state visit on September 8, has been holding talks with Qatari officials to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields, as well as national developments and regional and international efforts to achieve peace.
He is scheduled to participate in a high-level event commemorating the International Day to Protect Education from Attack, observed annually on September 9.
Upon his arrival, bin Mubarak discussed with the Qatari government the potential role Qatar can play in supporting the Yemeni government's efforts to achieve economic stability. He held a bilateral meeting with his Qatari counterpart, Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, during which the Qatari Prime Minister reaffirmed his country's unwavering support for Yemen and its people, and its commitment to expanding partnerships with the Yemeni government.
Bin Mubarak briefed his Qatari counterpart on the latest developments in Yemen, outlining the government's ongoing initiatives to address various challenges and the reforms being implemented to promote transparency, accountability, and combat corruption.
