On Thursday, September 26, 2024, Yemen’s recognized Prime Minister, Ahmed Awdh bin Mubarak, praised the Saudi development initiatives under the Saudi Program for the Reconstruction of Yemen during a visit to Marib province.

The Prime Minister, accompanied by Presidential Leadership Council member Major General Sultan Al-Arada, laid the foundation for a series of development projects funded by the Saudi program. Bin Mubarak's visit comes as part of a broader effort to enhance infrastructure and services in various Yemeni provinces.

During the foundation-laying ceremony, Bin Mubarak stated, "Just as we stood together with our brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the battle of blood and destiny, we will unite in the battle of construction and development."

He noted that his visit would include the inauguration of several projects under the Saudi reconstruction program, highlighting key initiatives such as the construction of a medical college, the second phase of the Al-Abar road project, and an educational complex for girls.

Bin Mubarak emphasized that these projects are part of a larger strategic partnership that will continue to evolve, benefiting not only Yemen but also the broader Arab region. He remarked, “The Saudi development efforts extend beyond the Kingdom, reaching our brothers throughout the Arab world, particularly in Yemen.”

Following the ceremony, Major General Sultan Al-Arada also addressed the gathering, expressing his bewilderment at comparisons made between the legitimate Yemeni government and the Houthi movement, which is designated as a terrorist organization linked to Iran. He called such comparisons “unjust.”

Al-Arada asserted, “While Iran supplies the militia in Yemen with countless weapons and explosives, Saudi Arabia is providing the Yemeni people with a medical college, a school for the gifted, and essential humanitarian efforts.”

He highlighted that these humanitarian projects would leave a lasting impact, citing the Al-Salam Hospital in Saada as a testament to Saudi Arabia's contributions, which continues to serve the community.

The member of the Presidential Leadership Council expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership, government, and people for their ongoing support to the Yemeni people, particularly through the Saudi Program for the Reconstruction of Yemen.

The foundation-laying ceremony included projects such as the establishment of a medical college, an educational complex for girls, and the enhancement of water resources.

Attendees from the Yemeni government included Interior Minister Major General Ibrahim Haidan, Minister of Trade and Industry Mohammed Al-Ashwal, Minister of Electricity and Energy M. Mani' Yuslem Bin Yamin, Minister of Finance Salem Bin Brek, Minister of Information Moammar Al-Eryani, and Minister of Water and Environment Tawfiq Al-Sharjabi. Ali Al-Dosari represented the Saudi program in Marib.
