Al-Arada and Bin Mubarak discuss the army’s situation and coordination mechanisms with the relevant government agencies

On Saturday, September 28, 2024, Sultan al-Arada, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Marib, met with Prime Minister Ahmed bin Mubarak to discuss the current state of the Yemeni military and its combat readiness. The meeting aimed to enhance coordination with relevant government agencies to strengthen the overall position of the state against the Houthi group, which is internationally designated as a terrorist organization.

The discussions took place during a large meeting attended by several ministers, Chief of Staff Major General Saghir bin Aziz, heads of military branches, and security leaders, held in Marib, northeastern Yemen, as reported by the official Saba News Agency.

In his address, al-Arada congratulated military and security leaders on the 62nd anniversary of the September 26 Revolution and the upcoming Yemeni Revolutionary Days of October 14 and November 30. He conveyed the political leadership's congratulations to all armed forces members for their heroism and sacrifices in the field.

Al-Arada emphasized that this occasion draws strength and significance from the sacrifices and bravery of military personnel, highlighting the importance of popular resistance and increased public awareness regarding the significance of this historic day.

Prime Minister bin Mubarak reiterated the government’s commitment to prioritizing the armed forces, stating that efforts are underway to mobilize resources to overcome any obstacles in securing the needs of the national military. He acknowledged the fighters' sacrifices and the historical significance of their ongoing struggles.

Chief of Staff bin Aziz provided an overview of the current status of the armed forces, noting the resilience of military personnel at the front lines. He highlighted the achievements of the Ministry of Defense in training and enhancing the capabilities of its forces, ensuring that they are well-prepared to face the ongoing conflict with the Houthi militia.

The meeting was attended by Interior Minister Major General Ibrahim Haidan, Finance Minister Salem bin Brek, Director of the Prime Minister’s Office Anis Baharitha, and Prime Minister Advisor Mujib Osman, along with Central Bank deputies Mansour Rajeh and Hussein al-Dahmashi, and Major Sami al-Saeedi, Director General of the Yemeni Economic Corporation.
