Al-Arada Emphasizes Enhancing Productivity in the Oil and Gas Sector

Sultan Al-Arada, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Marib stressed the importance of addressing challenges in the oil and gas sector to improve productivity and support the national economy. During a meeting held on Saturday, Al-Arada underscored the need for enhanced efficiency and transparency within institutions operating in this vital sector.

The meeting, co-chaired by Prime Minister Ahmed Bin Mubarak, focused on the ongoing operations of oil and gas companies in Marib, located in northeastern Yemen. Discussions revolved around the implementation of reforms aimed at promoting transparency, accountability, and combating corruption.

Performance Reports and Development Proposals

Officials from various oil and gas institutions presented performance reports, highlighting existing challenges and suggesting development initiatives to optimize the sector's potential. This sector plays a crucial role in bolstering the national economy.

Prime Minister Bin Mubarak emphasized the necessity of completing essential tasks, including improving the efficiency of institutions in the oil and gas sector and restoring their full operational capabilities. He called for establishing international partnerships to facilitate sector development and the enforcement of strict oversight to combat corruption.

Bin Mubarak reiterated that the government's success in implementing its key priorities largely depends on resource development. He affirmed the commitment to transparency and accountability across all oil and gas companies, stressing the importance of addressing existing problems and correcting imbalances rather than evading them.

Key Attendees

The meeting was attended by several key officials, including Finance Minister Salem bin Brek, Electricity and Energy Minister Mane’ Bin Yameen, Prime Minister’s Office Director Anis Baharitha, Prime Minister Advisor Mujib Othman, General Director of the Oil and Gas Corporation Mohamed Thabet, and Executive Director of the Emergency Response Unit Jamal Bin Ghanem.
