On Sunday, September 29, 2024, the Israeli Air Force conducted airstrikes on the port of Hodeidah in western Yemen.

Local sources reported to Barran Press that one strike targeted fuel tanks at the port, resulting in significant smoke rising from the explosion. Additional strikes were reported to have hit the electricity station and the airport in Hodeidah.

Israeli Army Radio confirmed that this marked the second time the air force had targeted the Hodeidah port. According to Axios, Israeli officials stated that the airstrikes were part of a broader military response.

The Israeli attacks on Hodeidah came in the wake of three ballistic missile strikes launched by the Houthi movement towards Israel.
