On Sunday, September 29, 2024, the Media Center of the Southern Giants Brigades reported the successful interception of a Houthi drone flying over the Bayhan district in Shabwa province, southeastern Yemen.

According to the center, the air defenses of the Southern Giants shot down the drone in the evening as it navigated the skies of Bayhan , in the northwest of Shabwa province.

The center confirmed that the drone was detected while attempting to approach military sites west of Bayhan. The air defense forces acted swiftly, neutralizing the threat before the drone could reach its target.

Since January 2022, the Southern Giants, alongside Shabwa Defense Forces, have been deployed in Bayhan and along the borders of Al-Bayda province.
