On Monday, September 30, 2024, the internationally recognized Yemeni government condemned the recent airstrikes by Israel on the city of Al-Hudaydah, which is controlled by Houthi militias. The government described the attack as "a new violation of Yemen's sovereignty and a clear breach of international laws and norms."

In a statement reported by the Yemen News Agency, Saba, a government source held Israel fully responsible for any repercussions resulting from its new air raids, including exacerbating the humanitarian crisis already deepened by Houthi attacks on oil facilities and international shipping routes, which the government characterized as "terroristic" and supported by the Iranian regime.

The source reiterated warnings to the Iranian regime, its operational militias, and Israel about the dangers of escalating tensions in the region and turning Yemen into a battleground for their destructive agendas.

Furthermore, the Yemeni government called on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities in protecting international peace and security and to spare the region's populations from further suffering and tragedies.

On the evening of Sunday, September 29, 2024, Israeli aircraft conducted airstrikes on the port of Al-Hudaydah, targeting fuel tanks, the electricity station, and the airport, leading to significant explosions and plumes of smoke rising from the sites.

Local sources reported that the Israeli strikes caused extensive damage, following a similar attack in July that targeted the port and oil storage facilities, resulting in numerous casualties and significant destruction.
