On Sunday, October 6, 2024, the Executive Office of Marib Province approved several recommendations and proposals regarding the debt owed by government entities to the local branch of the Electricity Corporation.
The decisions were made during a regular meeting chaired by Deputy Governor Ali Al-Fatimi, which focused on the challenges related to government debts and the transportation of fuel to electricity substations, according to the official Saba News Agency.
The agency reported that the recommendations and proposals from the meeting will be forwarded to higher authorities for appropriate decision-making.
Additionally, the meeting reviewed the outcomes of the recent visit by the Yemeni Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation to the province, where they participated in the lighting ceremony for the Flame of September 26, marking the beginning of celebrations for the national holidays in September, October, and November.
The meeting emphasized that igniting the main flame in Marib symbolizes the province's significance as a bastion of the republic.
It noted that the visit was crucial for assessing the province’s status across various sectors and reflected a positive image of Marib, which has thwarted the Houthi ambitions of expansion and control over other governorates.
Participants praised the efforts of the Governor of Marib, Major General Sultan Al-Eradah, and Prime Minister Ahmed Bin Mubarak, for their support in providing services through an executive matrix that addresses the province's needs in service and development projects, particularly in infrastructure.
The meeting also reviewed a report detailing the achievements of the Youth and Sports Office in the province, presented by its director, Ali Hashwan. The report included sports activities and events for the 2023-2024 season at local, national, and regional levels, along with implemented programs and projects, challenges faced, and proposed solutions.
Additionally, Saud Al-Yousifi, Director of the Civil Service and Social Insurance Office, presented a report on last month’s employee discipline, attendance and absenteeism rates across various offices, and the ministry's directives regarding the management of dual employment.
