On Sunday, October 6, 2024, tribal sources reported that Sheikh Amin Al-Akimi handed over a man to the Abeida tribe in Marib after he sought refuge following the murder of a woman in Shabwa Province, eastern Yemen.

The suspect, Ali bin Ali Faraj Al-Harithi, fled to Sheikh Al-Akimi after allegedly killing Saada bint Nasser Zamlan Al-Harithi by stabbing her in the Al-Balharith Valley in the Asilan district of Shabwa.

Sources informed "Barran Press" that Al-Harithi initially sought shelter with the Al-Mua’ili family in Marib Valley but was refused. He subsequently turned to Sheikh Al-Akimi in the Al-Rayan area, east of Al-Jawf.

The Balharith tribe set up a post near the Bin Mua’ili fuel station in eastern Marib, demanding the suspect's handover and refusing to grant him refuge. After receiving Al-Harithi from Sheikh Al-Akimi, the Al-Mua’ili family requested written guarantees from the Balharith tribe to ensure no action would be taken against him in Marib, ensuring his safety until he left the province.

Sources confirmed that the Balharith tribe accepted Al-Harithi from the Al-Mua’ili family, and the family of the victim agreed to bury her that evening at the Al-Khabi cemetery in the Asilan district.

According to reports, Al-Harithi killed Saada bint Nasser Zamilan Al-Harithi with a knife while she was collecting fodder for livestock in the Al-Balharith Valley. He allegedly attacked her from behind, stabbing her before fleeing to Marib.

Local residents rushed the victim to Al-Asilan General Hospital; unfortunately, she did not survive. Her relatives placed her body in the hospital's refrigerator, demanding the suspect's handover outside of judicial proceedings.
