Heavy rains in the southern Yemeni provinces of Taiz and Lahij led to significant flooding on Thursday evening, causing a truck to be swept away in Wadi Tamnan, Lahij.
A local source informed Barran Press that rushing floodwaters in the Tamnan Valley in the Al-Sabiah region of Lahij carried off the vehicle while the driver attempted to cross the swollen river.
The report noted that intense rainfall was also recorded in the areas of Tamnan and Al-Mudharabah in Lahij, as well as in Ashrouh and Quds in the Al-Mawaset district of southern Taiz.

The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has predicted scattered thunderstorms of varying intensity across ten Yemeni governorates in the coming hours.
In its daily bulletin, the center indicated that early morning conditions would be relatively cool in the mountainous regions, turning partly to mostly cloudy during the day. It warned of varying levels of rain, occasionally accompanied by thunder, across parts of Taiz, Lahij, Ibb, Al-Dhale, and Abyan.
Moreover, the center anticipates scattered rainfall in parts of Rima, Al-Mahwit, Hajjah, and western Saada.
It also reported that coastal areas may experience partly cloudy conditions with intermittent rain and occasional thunder in parts of the Tihama plain and western coasts, while light to moderate rain is expected on southern coasts and the Socotra Archipelago. Winds in the Socotra region are predicted to be moderate to active, ranging between 10-20 knots.
In desert areas, partly cloudy to clear conditions are expected, with moderate winds stirring up dust and debris.
