Local sources reported on Friday that residents in the Sirwah district of Marib province, northeastern Yemen, refused to participate in a protest organized by the Houthi group, which is internationally classified as a terrorist organization, in support of Lebanon and Palestine.

According to Barran Press sources, citizens in Sirwah declined to join the demonstration called by the Houthis after Friday prayers, which aimed to denounce "Israeli aggression against Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen."

The refusal to participate is linked to the recent killing of 22-year-old Muhammad Abdullah Saeed Al-Zaydi, who was shot dead by a Houthi security official during a previous demonstration supporting Lebanon. The incident occurred when Al-Zaydi was inside his vehicle and was shot in the head by a Houthi supervisor known as "Abu Azrael Al-Hamza."

Following this tragic event, local residents were reluctant to engage in further protests. Reports indicate that Houthi leaders could not convince citizens to participate, and when they arrived at the designated gathering point in Sirwah's market, they found a complete absence of attendees.
