The Saudi General Authority for Media Regulation announced on Saturday that it has initiated an investigation into officials at a television channel following a news report deemed "contrary to the media policies of the Kingdom."

In a statement reviewed by "Barran Press," the authority noted that the investigation is intended to complete the necessary legal procedures regarding this violation.

The decision comes after controversy surrounding a report aired by MBC on October 18, titled "Millennium of Deliverance from Terrorists," which listed several prominent figures, including Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, who was killed by Israel this week in Gaza, and his predecessor Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated in Tehran.

Following the report, the Iraqi Media and Communications Commission announced on Saturday that it had suspended MBC's operations in Iraq. The commission stated that the suspension resulted from "MBC's violations of broadcasting regulations through its repeated transgressions and attacks" on what it termed "leaders of victory and resistance."
