Yemen's U-17 National Team Dominates Myanmar with 6-1 Victory in Asian Qualifiers

On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, Yemen's U-17 national football team overwhelmed Myanmar with a decisive 6-1 victory in the opening match of the Asian qualifiers for Group 9, held at the Viet Tri Stadium in Vietnam.

From the outset, Yemen controlled the match, with defender Mohammed Waheeb Al-Jarash scoring the first goal just five minutes in. This was quickly followed by a second goal from Issam Al-Saqaf in the 12th minute.

In the second half, Yemen continued to dominate, with Ahmed Abdullah Mahim netting two goals and Karim Hamdi adding another. Waheeb also scored his second goal of the match.

In the 63rd minute, Hamdi scored the fifth goal following sustained pressure from the Yemeni attack. Myanmar managed to pull one back in the 70th minute through substitute Thawrat Minhat during a counterattack.

Mahim capped off the scoring for Yemen with the sixth goal in the 76th minute, concluding the match with a resounding 6-1 victory for the young Yemeni team.
