On Thursday, October 24, 2024, a large women’s march took place in Marib, northeastern Yemen, protesting the ongoing crimes committed by Israeli forces and their brutal escalation in northern Gaza over the past 20 days.

Participants in the march chanted solidarity slogans and condemned the alleged genocide perpetrated against the Palestinian people. They waved both the Yemeni and Palestinian flags and carried images of Hamas martyrs.

A statement from the women’s march, shared with "Barran Press," described the recent actions of Israeli forces in northern Gaza as a continuation of ongoing genocide and ethnic cleansing that has persisted for over a year. The statement denounced the Israeli military's systematic killings and starvation tactics against civilians and displaced persons, holding the Israeli government, the U.S. administration, and all nations complicit in these acts fully accountable for the ongoing atrocities.

The statement emphasized that the international community recognizes that the occupying forces would not have the audacity to continue their horrific massacres in Gaza or expand their operations in the region without the cover provided by the U.S. administration and the global silence surrounding these Nazi-like crimes.

The marchers called on the international community, free nations, and all international organizations to exert pressure on Israel to halt the ongoing genocide and ethnic cleansing, particularly in northern Gaza. They urged the Arab and Islamic worlds, both officially and publicly, to support the resilience and resistance of the Palestinian people against what they termed “the generals' plan,” which relies on maximum military force.

The statement praised the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and their leaders, likening their sacrifices to the historical narratives of struggle that inspire current and future generations.

Since the outbreak of the Al-Aqsa Flood battle on October 7, 2023, Marib has witnessed numerous solidarity events with the Palestinian people, who are facing a devastating and brutal war supported by unprecedented American and Western backing. Thousands of citizens—men and women from various social and political backgrounds, civil society organizations, and university students—have participated in these protests and marches.
