Sheikh Hussein Al-Sharif, President of the Yemeni Fencing Federation, was unanimously elected as Vice President of the West Asia Fencing Federation on Friday, October 25, 2024, according to informed sources.

Sources told Barran Press that Al-Sharif's election took place during the General Assembly meeting of the West Asia Fencing Federation for the electoral term 2024-2028, held in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq. Iraqi official Ziyad Hassan was re-elected as the federation's president.
