Local sources reported on Thursday, October 24, 2024, that a nine-year-old boy died from severe injuries after being attacked by stray dogs in a residential neighborhood of Taiz, located in southwestern Yemen.

According to sources speaking to Barran Press, the boy, Maher Abdullah Saeed Al-Sharabi, was attacked while standing outside Zaid Al-Mushki School in the city. Witnesses confirmed that the stray dogs mauled the child, who succumbed to his injuries shortly after being rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

The attack has raised alarm among residents, as the area around Al-Mushki School is known for a significant number of stray dogs, posing a threat to the safety of local inhabitants, particularly children. Community members are calling for immediate action from the local authorities, urging the Cleanliness and Improvement Office to intervene and address the stray dog problem.
