On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, Yemen's Interior Ministry, part of the internationally recognized government, announced that security forces apprehended 49 suspects involved in various criminal activities on Monday, October 28.
According to a statement published by the ministry's security media, the arrests took place across several provinces, including Taiz, Aden, Marib, coastal Hadramout, Shabwa, Al-Mahra, and Al-Dhale.
The report indicated that the crimes covered 42 cases, with the most notable being 16 incidents categorized as property violations and minor assault. Additionally, there were 9 cases of theft, 4 cases of breach of trust, and an equal number involving drug offenses and threats.
The arrests also included 3 cases of intentional homicide, 2 instances of severe bodily harm, and the same number involving fraud, along with one attempted murder charge.
The ministry confirmed that necessary legal procedures have been initiated against the suspects, and investigations will continue until the cases are referred to the public prosecution for further inquiry.
