On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, Colonel Sadiq Al-Namr, head of the Military Medical Committee in the Taiz Military Axis of the Yemeni army, announced that 44 wounded soldiers have been sent to the Arab Republic of Egypt for medical treatment.

In a statement released by the media center of the Taiz Axis, which was reported by "Barran Press," Al-Namr confirmed that these 44 individuals represent the first group of casualties requiring specialized care, covering various medical fields, including orthopedics, spinal injuries, neurology, vascular surgery, and ophthalmology.

He noted that there is ongoing monitoring of other injured personnel who did not travel with this group, indicating that their transfer will occur with subsequent batches. He expressed gratitude to the decision-making committee at Al-Thawra Hospital for conducting interviews and reviewing the files of the wounded selected for travel, as well as to everyone who assisted the military medical committee.

The transfer of the injured for treatment is in line with directives from Rashad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council. Al-Namr mentioned that these instructions were issued in mid-October and aimed to expedite the travel of 44 eligible Taiz casualties for overseas medical care, as previously directed.

He emphasized that medical examinations had been completed by the specialized medical committee, which prioritized those in need of treatment abroad.
