On November 1, 2024, a large demonstration took place in Marib, northeastern Yemen, expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people and condemning the ongoing Israeli military actions in Gaza, which the participants described as a campaign of genocide.

The statement issued during the rally highlighted the severe humanitarian crisis in northern Gaza, criticizing the continued blockade and starvation imposed on the region. It noted that no humanitarian supplies have been allowed in for over three weeks, forcing tens of thousands to flee due to relentless bombing, arrests, torture, and deprivation of essential food, water, and medical supplies.

The demonstrators condemned the horrific crimes committed by the Israeli occupation, stating that these acts constituted gross violations of international law and humanitarian principles. They called for the harshest penalties against those responsible for these atrocities.

The rally also denounced a recent vote in the Israeli Knesset to prohibit the operations of UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency) in the occupied territories, labeling it a blatant violation of international treaties and laws. The protesters demanded urgent international action to criminalize this decision and to expel Israel from United Nations institutions while imposing strict sanctions on the state.

Participants urged the international community to fulfill its responsibilities in protecting civilians, arguing that silence and indifference to these crimes undermine the very principles of international law and hinder efforts toward global peace and security.

Moreover, the demonstrators called on humanitarian and rights organizations to intensify their efforts to document violations and provide urgent assistance to victims of the ongoing war in Gaza and other Palestinian cities.

The statement emphasized the need for all peoples to be a voice for justice and to exert effective pressure on their governments to hold the occupying forces accountable, aiming to end the "genocide" and restore security and stability in Gaza, allowing Palestinians to reclaim their rightful rights.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with unwavering American support, has conducted what many describe as a campaign of genocide in Gaza, resulting in over 145,000 Palestinian casualties, primarily among women and children, with more than 10,000 reported missing. This conflict has led to immense destruction and famine, marking one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world.

Despite a United Nations Security Council resolution calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities, Israel continues its military operations, disregarding orders from the International Court of Justice to prevent genocide and improve the dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza.
