On November 2, 2024, the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council reiterated its commitment to taking "full responsibility" for alleviating the country's dire living conditions. The council expressed its unwavering dedication to strengthening unity and focusing on the critical battle to restore state institutions and end the ongoing coup.

The remarks came during a meeting chaired by Rashad Al-Alimi, attended by members including Aidarus Al-Zubaidi, Sultan Al-Arada, Tariq Saleh, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, and others, with member Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami absent due to valid reasons.

According to the official Yemeni News Agency Saba, the meeting addressed economic and living conditions, particularly the fluctuations in currency exchange rates, essential goods prices, and commercial shipping, as well as the humanitarian implications exacerbated by Houthi attacks on oil facilities and international shipping routes.

The council also discussed various local issues, including the situation in Hadramout, and took necessary actions and decisions regarding these matters.

President Al-Alimi provided updates on his meetings with regional and international stakeholders, as well as recent discussions in the temporary capital of Aden with the government.

Members of the council shared briefings on various assigned tasks and government reports regarding economic and monetary developments and their expected implications at multiple levels.

The council reaffirmed its support for coordinated economic and service reforms with regional and international partners, highlighting the roles of Saudi Arabia and the UAE in supporting state efforts to fulfill essential obligations, including paying employees' salaries and securing basic goods and services.

The meeting also addressed regional and international developments related to the escalating actions of Israeli forces in Palestinian and Lebanese territories and their implications for global security and peace.

The council welcomed Saudi Arabia's invitation to hold a joint Arab-Islamic summit on November 11 and praised its initiative to launch an international coalition to support a two-state solution.

Furthermore, the council reiterated Yemen's strong support for the Palestinian people's right to establish a fully sovereign state in accordance with international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative. It also reaffirmed its support for Lebanon's statehood, sovereignty, and exclusive right to control its arms, emphasizing that halting Israeli aggression and brutal violations is key to achieving the desired peace and countering Iran's attempts to exacerbate regional tensions.
