On November 3, 2024, a security campaign in the sub-districts of Al-Subbaihah, Lahij province, announced it is surrounding individuals wanted in connection with a homicide and armed robbery case in the Al-Mudharabah and Ras al-Ara areas. The campaign has vowed to take decisive action against anyone aiding the suspects, warning of a "firm hand" response.

Led by Colonel Hamdi Shukri, commander of the 7th Giants Brigade, the security operation aims to stabilize the region and support local law enforcement. The campaign stated it would remain in the area until the suspects were apprehended, emphasizing its neutrality and commitment to the objectives outlined in a previously established code of honor among local tribal leaders.

The statement highlighted that any homicide should be treated as a criminal matter rather than a tribal issue, urging local leaders to assist in the capture of the suspects. The campaign has been targeting the Al-Buraima tribe due to reported infractions committed by individuals linked to a murder involving members of the Al-Shamayah tribe.

Colonel Shukri called on the chiefs and dignitaries of the Al-Buraima tribe to cooperate by surrendering the suspects to prevent further bloodshed and to adhere to the law as outlined in the code of honor. He warned that any resistance from the suspects or their supporters would be met with strong action, stating, "The operation will pursue the suspects until they are captured, even if force is necessary."

Earlier, a military convoy returning from the Kharij front in northern Lahij was ambushed in the Al-Mudharabah district, resulting in casualties among its members. Sources indicated that the ambush stemmed from a long-standing feud between the Al-Buraima and Al-Shamayah tribes, which are part of the larger Al-Subbaihah tribal confederation.
