The Yemeni Ministry of Education, part of the internationally recognized government, officially denied rumors on November 5, 2024, regarding chemical contaminants in the Indonesian-made biscuits distributed to school students by the World Food Program (WFP).

In a formal memorandum from the Executive Unit for School Nutrition, directed to education officials across various governorates, seen by Barran Press, the ministry reassured that all biscuit shipments undergo rigorous testing by the Quality and Standards Authority. The authority issues certificates of inspection for each batch before it is allowed into the school nutrition unit's warehouses.

The ministry emphasized that the circulating rumors on social media, which allege the negative effects of the biscuits on students, are unfounded. It urged the public not to let these malicious rumors undermine the integrity of school nutrition programs.

Recently, social media activists circulated a purported "laboratory test" document claiming that the biscuits distributed by the WFP contained chemicals that provoke homosexual urges, a claim that the ministry has firmly rejected.
