Yemeni Taekwondo Player Ahmed Harbi Secures Second Place at Qatar International Championship

Yemeni athlete Ahmed Ali Harbi, representing the Taekwondo team from Marib governorate, claimed second place at the Fourth Qatar International Open Taekwondo Championship, held in the Qatari capital on November 6, 2024.

According to the Marib governorate's official website, Harbi, a member of the Al-Sadd Club, won a silver medal in a competition featuring 1,440 athletes from 40 countries, which concluded last Saturday.

Harbi competed in four intense matches in the youth category for competitors under 51 kilograms. He demonstrated exceptional skill throughout the tournament, winning three key bouts before facing defeat in the final match, ultimately securing the second position.

The official website of Marib noted that Harbi’s achievement marks a significant milestone for Yemeni sports, showcasing the advanced level of Taekwondo in Yemen, particularly in Marib governorate.
