Tragic Drowning Incident Claims Lives of Mother and Daughter in Al-Dhale'e

On Saturday, November 9, 2024, local sources reported that a mother and her daughter drowned while attempting to collect water from a rainwater retention basin in Al Dhale' Governorate, southern Yemen.

Sources informed Barran Press that the victims were the daughter of Nayef Saeed Al Mansoub and his wife. The incident occurred in the village of Al Muqaddam, located in the Murais area of the Qatabah district.

According to the reports, the 20-year-old university student was assisting her mother when she slipped and fell into the water barrier. In a desperate attempt to save her daughter, the mother also fell in, resulting in both of their tragic deaths.

Locals recovered their bodies several hours later, and both were laid to rest in the cemetery of Al Muqaddam village in northern Qatabah district.
