On November 11, 2024, Rashad Alimi, President of Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council, emphasized that strengthening the Palestinian national position and enhancing the prospects for a two-state solution begins with solidifying the Arab stance and deterring armed militias in the region.

In his remarks at the Arab-Islamic follow-up summit held in Riyadh, Alimi stated that "deterring Israeli aggression cannot be achieved through proxy wars." He asserted that addressing conflicts and supporting national Arab identities is essential for countering such aggression, alongside the implementation of international law without selectivity or delays.

Alimi pointed to the detrimental impact of Houthi actions on Yemen's economic and living conditions, describing them as having militarized regional waters to serve aggressive expansionist interests.

He highlighted the strategic developments fostered by the Arab-Islamic summit over the past year, which aimed to integrate Arab and Islamic efforts while reinforcing the two-state solution politically and diplomatically, rallying international support to meet the aspirations of the Palestinian people.

The Yemeni leader also praised the joint ministerial committee formed a year ago, noting its success in elevating the Palestinian issue on the global diplomatic stage. This culminated in the UN General Assembly's recognition of Palestine as a member state and Saudi Arabia's initiative to launch an international coalition for implementing the two-state solution.

Alimi called for enhancing collective diplomatic efforts, activating the Arab Peace and Security Council, and integrating these initiatives with the joint ministerial committee's work. He stressed the need to extend their focus beyond the Palestinian cause to address regional conflicts and support peace-building efforts.

In relation to Lebanon, Alimi condemned the Israeli aggression and expressed Yemen's full support for the Lebanese government's efforts to establish a permanent ceasefire and reinforce national sovereignty in accordance with international resolutions.

The extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit, convened at the invitation of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, aims to unify the Arab and Islamic stance against the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza and Lebanon.
