The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning announced on Friday, November 29, 2024, that severe cold weather is anticipated in five Yemeni governorates over the coming hours, along with scattered rain in parts of northwestern and southwestern Yemen.

In its daily bulletin, which was reviewed by Barran Press, the center indicated that mountainous areas are expected to experience cold to extremely cold conditions during the night and early morning in the governorates of Al-Bayda, Dhamar, Sana'a, Amran, and Saada.

The forecast also predicts partly cloudy weather during the day, with a possibility of scattered rain in parts of western Saada, Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, Raymah, Ibb, and Taiz, as well as in the highlands and the Tihama plain.

Coastal areas are likely to see clear to partly cloudy skies, with the formation of rain clouds over Socotra Archipelago, and the center expects scattered rain in parts of the western coast. Moderate winds are anticipated to occasionally strengthen over the southern Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab entrance, and Socotra Archipelago.

The center noted that desert regions may experience relatively clear but dusty weather, with active northeastern winds stirring up dust and sand.

The National Center for Meteorology has warned residents of the mountainous areas to take precautions against the cold weather, particularly children, school students, the elderly, and workers during the night and early morning hours.
