According to Bloomberg's annual ranking of the world's richest families, three Arab families have secured spots in the top ten for this year.
The Walton family, owners of the Walmart retail chain in the United States, topped the list with a net worth of $432.4 billion. Following them in second place is the Al Nahyan family, the ruling family of the United Arab Emirates, with a fortune of $323.9 billion. The Qatari Al Thani family ranked third, boasting a net worth of $172.9 billion.
In fourth place, the French Hermès family, known for its luxury fashion brand, has a wealth of $170.6 billion. The Koch family, involved in industrial and oil ventures, came in fifth with $148.5 billion.
The Saudi royal family, Al Saud, ranked sixth with a net worth of $140 billion. The American Mars family, known for the famous Mars candy brand, followed in seventh place with $133.8 billion, while the Indian Ambani family, owners of Reliance Industries, secured eighth place with $99.6 billion. Finally, the French Wertheimer family, owners of the Chanel brand, ranked ninth with a fortune of $88 billion.
