On December 15, 2024, the United Arab Emirates strongly condemned the Israeli government's decision to expand settlement activities in the occupied Golan Heights, warning of the potential escalation of tensions in the region.

In a statement from its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the UAE reiterated its commitment to the unity, independence, and territorial integrity of Syria. The statement characterized the settlement expansion as a “prolongation of occupation and a violation of international law.”

The UAE expressed its firm rejection of all actions aimed at altering the legal status of the occupied Golan Heights, emphasizing that such measures threaten the security, sovereignty, and stability of the Arab Republic of Syria.

Recently, Israeli forces have reportedly penetrated the buffer zone and surrounding areas of Mount Sheikh and parts of Quneitra province, targeting several civilian and military sites in Syria.
