On December 23, 2024, the Marib Deputy Governor for Administrative Affairs, Abdullah Al-Bakri, and Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Ali Al-Abab, inaugurated a three-day Knowledge Exchange Forum aimed at enhancing revenue generation and local development.
The forum, organized by the General Administration for Administrative Development Research and Training in Marib, features participants from six provinces.
In his opening remarks, Jamal Al-Jaafari, Director General of Administrative Development Research and Training, emphasized the significance of the forum in fostering the exchange of expertise in education and financial resource development. He highlighted the importance of encouraging innovative solutions to challenges while promoting collaboration among officials to contribute to local community development.
Al-Jaafari noted that the forum is expected to produce publications summarizing activities, ideas, and recommendations for implementation, alongside establishing a network among officials and a list of future activities for knowledge exchange.
On the first day, attendees engaged in three presentations and a workshop. The first paper, titled "Education: From Crisis to Development," was presented by Mukhtar Al-Hamadi, who outlined educational stages and strategic visions to support the shift toward quality education.
The second presentation featured an international perspective on education by Daddo Alouh, an advisor to the Minister of Youth and Sports, who discussed Rwanda's recovery steps in the education sector and recommendations for enhancing education in Yemen.
Local experiences were shared by Awd Mohammed Bashatah, Deputy Director of the Education Office in Aden, and Ameen Abdullah Ba'abad, Director of the Education Office in the Coastal Governorate of Hadhramaut, both expressing gratitude to Marib for its hospitality and organization.
The presentations covered local educational projects, challenges, successes, and partnerships with international and local organizations, focusing on successful quality initiatives.
