In a thrilling encounter at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait, Yemen's national football team suffered their second defeat in the group stage of the Arabian Gulf Cup, losing to Saudi Arabia 3-2.
The match saw Yemen initially take control, finishing the first half ahead with two goals. Haroun Al-Zubaidi opened the scoring, followed by Abdul-Majid Zabara, while Saudi Arabia managed to net one goal from Mohammed Kanno.
However, the second half saw a dramatic turnaround. Saudi player Musab Al-Juwair equalized early in the half, and shortly after, Abdullah Al-Hamdan scored the decisive goal, sealing the victory for the Saudis.
This loss follows Yemen’s earlier defeat against defending champions Iraq, where they fell short with a score of 1-0, leaving their chances in the tournament hanging by a thread.
