On December 25, 2024, Sultan Al-Aradah, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Marib, confirmed that financial and administrative procedures have been completed for the maintenance of the Marib gas station, with work officially beginning soon.
Al-Aradah made the announcement during a meeting with Kuwait’s Ambassador to Yemen, Falah Al-Hajraf, where they discussed recent developments in Yemen and the region across political, economic, and humanitarian fronts, according to the Yemeni news agency Saba.
He expressed gratitude to the Kuwaiti leadership and the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development for financing the project, emphasizing its critical role in maintaining the gas station's efficiency to meet the needs of the local population.
The governor praised Kuwait’s significant humanitarian and developmental contributions to Yemen, highlighting the country's ongoing support through various large-scale projects.
The meeting, attended by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Waed Badi, focused on enhancing collaborative efforts and exploring opportunities to increase humanitarian and developmental support for Yemen to alleviate the suffering of its people.
In response, Ambassador Al-Hajraf reaffirmed Kuwait’s steadfast support for Yemen and its people, expressing his government’s eagerness to strengthen cooperation and coordination in all sectors for mutual benefit.
