On December 28, 2024, four agreements were signed for 2025 regarding the prosthetics and rehabilitation project in four Yemeni provinces, funded by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center.

According to the official Saba News Agency, the signing took place during the inauguration ceremony of the prosthetics and rehabilitation program for Yemen in 2025, implemented by the International Association for the Care of War and Disaster Victims with support from the King Salman Center.

During the event, Health Minister Qassem Buhaibah emphasized the critical importance of this project for a significant segment of the community affected by incidents related to landmines planted by the Houthi group, which is classified as a terrorist organization.

The minister noted that caring for people with disabilities aligns with the plans and programs of the Ministry of Health, which is set to witness qualitative leaps in the coming phase, supported by Saudi Arabia, reflecting positively on services provided in liberated provinces.

Buhaibah urged health offices in the target provinces to use this support optimally, integrating these programs into the health system and training health personnel based on needs assessments. He called on all organizations to follow the association's example in strengthening institutional relationships with the Ministry of Health.

Mohammad Darbaah, the regional director of the International Association for the Care of War and Disaster Victims, stated that prosthetic centers in government-controlled provinces have fitted 10,684 prosthetic and orthopedic devices for amputees and individuals with mobility disabilities since 2020.

Darbaah noted that the four prosthetics centers in the provinces of Aden, Marib, Taiz, and Hadhramaut have reached 107,569 beneficiaries since 2020, providing 292,056 free services and offering medical consultations to 96,855 beneficiaries.

He praised the government's vital role in enhancing humanitarian efforts and expressed gratitude to all organizations working in this field and the unwavering support from the King Salman Center, which has significantly contributed to the success of the association's initiatives.
