YEMEN — On January 4, 2025, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) reported that 3,649 families, totaling 21,894 individuals, were displaced in Yemen throughout 2024.

In a report reviewed by Barran Press, the IOM noted that its displacement tracking matrix monitored displacements from January 1 to December 28, 2024, identifying 3,649 families affected.

Between December 22 and December 28, 2024, the tracking matrix recorded 32 families (192 individuals) displaced at least once.

The report highlighted that the majority of displaced families moved to the Marib and Al-Hudaydah governorates, with 18 families relocating to Marib and 14 families to Hays in Al-Hudaydah. Most displacements in Marib originated from the Al-Jawf and Ibb governorates, while Al-Hudaydah primarily came from within the same governorate and from Taiz.

Additionally, between December 15 and December 21, 2024, the IOM identified 28 more displaced families scattered across Marib and Al-Hudaydah.

The IOM's rapid displacement tracking tool relies on the collection and daily reporting of estimated numbers of displaced families, allowing for regular updates on new displacements in terms of numbers, geography, and needs.
