MARIB, Yemen — On January 7, 2025, the Humanitarian Rescue Foundation for Social Development concluded its first basic health training program aimed at addressing the challenges posed by climate change in Marib, northeastern Yemen.

The program, held in collaboration with the Office of Public Health and Population and the Office of Planning and International Cooperation in Marib, focused on enhancing the capacities of 25 health professionals with knowledge to combat the growing impacts of climate change on public health.

During the closing ceremony, the Director of the Health and Population Office, Al-Abadi, emphasized the importance of such health awareness training sessions. He praised the efforts of the Humanitarian Rescue Foundation for delivering high-quality scientific and training content that enhances health readiness and equips participants to address health impacts resulting from climate change.

Engineer Saleh Al-Saqaf, Director of the Planning Office, highlighted the significance of these specialized training courses in the governorate. He noted the necessity of using community education tools, particularly various social media platforms, to foster health awareness among the public.

Additionally, Abdulhakim Al-Qaisi, Director of the Social Affairs and Labor Office, delivered a motivational speech encouraging participants to invest their time and seize training opportunities for the benefit of themselves and their communities.

Nawaf Haysan, Director of the Humanitarian Rescue Foundation, expressed gratitude for the attendance and support of the executive office directors, noting that this initial course targeted 25 individuals out of a total of 200 who will be trained in batches.
