On January 11, 2025, Israeli forces reported nine soldiers were either killed or injured in a double ambush in Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza. Four soldiers died, and five were injured when a high-explosive device targeted a patrol. The attack combined a landmine explosion and gunfire.

Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli military death toll has risen to 835.

Meanwhile, Israeli airstrikes in Gaza killed 23 Palestinians, with 17 fatalities in the northern region. The Gaza Health Ministry reported 32 martyrs and 193 injuries in the past 48 hours, raising the total death toll to 46,537 and 109,571 injuries since October 7, 2023.
