Yemen and Iraq have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at revitalizing educational and cultural exchange programs. The agreement, signed in Baghdad by the respective Ministers of Higher Education, paves the way for increased cooperation between the two nations' universities.
Yemeni Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Khaled Wosabi, expressed his satisfaction with the renewed partnership, highlighting the historical importance of cultural exchange between Yemen and Iraq. Iraqi Minister of Higher Education, Naim Al-Aboudi, reiterated Iraq's commitment to supporting Yemeni students, emphasizing that Iraq considers itself a second home for them.
Currently, approximately 500 Yemeni students are pursuing their education at Iraqi universities, representing a significant portion of the 3,500 foreign students studying in Iraq under the "Study in Iraq" initiative. Minister Wosabi indicated that this number is expected to double in the near future, underscoring the strength of the educational ties between the two countries. To further solidify this relationship, Minister Wosabi announced the intention to appoint a cultural attaché in Baghdad.
