Saudi Arabia's "Masam" Project Clears Over 480,000 Explosives in Yemen

The Saudi-led "Masam" project has significantly reduced the threat of landmines and unexploded ordnance in Yemen, according to Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan. Speaking at the fourth Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum on Monday, February 24th, he highlighted that over 430,000 explosives have been cleared since 2018.

"Masam" General Manager Osama Al-Qasabi reported that as of February 21st, the project's teams have removed 482,637 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices, clearing over 65 million square meters of Yemeni land. This includes the removal of 321,576 unexploded ordnance, 8,196 explosive devices, 146,134 anti-tank mines, and 6,731 anti-personnel mines.
Prince Faisal emphasized Saudi Arabia's commitment to humanitarian aid, stating the Kingdom's dedication to assisting those in need without discrimination. The "Masam" project's booth at the forum garnered significant attention, showcasing mine detection equipment, landmine samples, and documentaries on clearance efforts.
