The National Bloc of Yemeni Political Parties, a coalition opposing the Iran-backed Houthis, called for greater unity among state institutions, particularly the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, amid signs of internal friction. The appeal came during a meeting chaired by Ahmed Obaid bin Daghr, where members stressed the need for collaboration to restore state authority and dismantle the Houthis’ sectarian agenda.
The Bloc pressed for urgent action to stabilize the plummeting Yemeni riyal, curb rising prices, tackle corruption, and ensure essential services as Ramadan approaches. According to a statement reviewed by "Barran Press," the coalition endorsed several decisions and proposals aimed at strengthening institutions, addressing the economic crisis, and rooting out corruption.
The call for unity coincides with reports that Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad Al-Alimi is pushing to oust Prime Minister Ahmed bin Mubarak in a proposed cabinet reshuffle, a move linked to worsening public services and the currency’s decline.
