On March 8, 2025, pro-Yemeni government’s Giants Brigades repelled an attack by Iran-backed Houthi forces in the Harib district of southern Marib. The Giants Brigades’ media center reported that intense clashes resulted in heavy losses for the Houthi militia, forcing them to withdraw.

Two days prior, on March 6, military sources confirmed that the Yemeni army had thwarted similar Houthi assaults on military positions in the same region. According to "September Net," the official website of the Yemeni Ministry of Defense, the army’s counter-operations successfully repelled all attacks.

Since January, the Houthis have escalated their offensive against Yemeni army positions, deploying artillery, tank shells, drones, and Katyusha rockets across multiple fronts in southern, northern, and northwestern Marib.
