The Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Aidarous al-Zubaidi, inspected on Sunday the progress of the King Salman Medical and Educational City project in Al-Mahra Governorate. The city, spanning one million square meters, is one of the largest projects undertaken by the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) to serve the health and education sectors in Yemen.

The city will include a 110-bed hospital equipped with advanced medical equipment and facilities, including outpatient clinics, a fully equipped radiology department, a medical laboratory, an endoscopy department, emergency and intensive care units for adults and children, and obstetrics and gynecology departments. The hospital will also be fully equipped for major surgical procedures, with dedicated operating rooms and a cardiac care and catheterization unit.

The SDRPY's health sector projects are part of 264 initiatives supporting eight key sectors: education, health, transportation, energy, water, agriculture, fisheries, developmental programs, and government capacity building across different Yemeni governorates.
