Rashad Al-Alimi, Chairman of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), declared on Saturday that the Republican Alliance is now "stronger and more determined than ever" to reclaim state institutions and end the Houthi insurgency, signaling that the liberation of Sana'a and other occupied cities is within reach.  

In an Eid al-Fitr address to the nation, Al-Alimi asserted that "the signs of victory are on the horizon," emphasizing that restoring Yemen’s internationally recognized government and stabilizing the war-torn country is now imminent. His remarks were broadcast via the state-run Saba News Agency.  

Al-Alimi called for a "unified national front" to decisively end what he termed the "Houthi imamate coup" and reinstate Yemen’s sovereignty. He announced that the PLC had approved a comprehensive strategy—the first since the Houthi takeover—to address ongoing challenges and prevent further infighting among anti-Houthi factions.  

Al-Alimi acknowledged complexities in his administration’s handling of economic deterioration and delayed governance reforms but insisted that the Houthi rebellion remains the root cause of Yemen’s collapse. He accused Iran of fueling regional instability through its support for the group.  

The PLC chief stressed that Yemen’s reintegration into the Arab and international community hinges on defeating the Houthis and fostering broad consensus around a national vision. He urged tighter cooperation with the Yemeni government to secure remaining provinces and counter Iranian influence.
