The U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, met Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan on Thursday, April 10, 2025, to discuss pressing issues, including combating the threats posed by the Iran-backed Houthis and ensuring the freedom of navigation in the Red Sea. The meeting focused on shared challenges that have implications for regional and global peace and security.
According to a statement by the U.S. State Department, Rubio and bin Farhan also deliberated on countering terrorist groups in Syria and explored strategies for securing the return of hostages from Gaza.
