Pro-government forces in Shabwa governorate intercepted and destroyed a Houthi reconnaissance drone on Sunday, according to military sources.  

The 6th Shabwa Defense Brigade stated the Iran-made drone was conducting surveillance of military positions when it was detected and neutralized. No casualties or damage were reported.  

Military sources confirmed the advanced drone model is capable of both intelligence-gathering and offensive operations. Brigade commanders said their forces remain on high alert following recent suspicious aerial activity in the region.  

The Iran-backed Houthis, designated as a terrorist organization by multiple nations, have increasingly employed drone technology in their operations.
