A 21-year-old man, Abdulmalik Abdullah Ahmed, was shot and injured by a Houthi sniper early Wednesday while returning home in the al-Sharaf neighborhood of Sala District, east of Taiz city, according to local sources. This marks the fifth sniper incident attributed to the Houthi group in the area in under a month.

Sources speaking to "Baran Press" reported that the sniper, believed to be positioned on al-Salal hill overlooking the Sala, al-Qasr, and Presidential Guard camp areas, targeted the civilian. The Houthi group is internationally designated as a terrorist organization.

The latest incident follows a series of similar attacks. On April 26, two children, 14-year-old Suleiman Fahd Haza'a and 12-year-old Mohammed Mansour Ali Abdulrahman, sustained leg injuries from Houthi sniper fire while in a water truck near the al-Dumaina well in al-Ta'iziyah District, west of Taiz city.

Earlier in April, 13-year-old Ibrahim Abdul Latif Sufian was severely wounded by a Houthi sniper located on al-Saleheen hill in the al-Shaqab area of Sabir al-Mawadim District on April 13. On April 9, 12-year-old Sali Mohammed Abdullah was also injured by a Houthi sniper on al-Salal hill while near her home east of Taiz.
