Yemen's recognized government has declared the ports of Aden and Mukalla fully ready to accommodate all shipping lines and import companies. The announcement ensures that goods can be delivered across all Yemeni governorates, including those under the control of the Houthi group, an internationally designated terrorist organization.

Minister of Transportation, Abdulsalam Humaid, made the statement during a visit to the Aden Port Development Company – Container Terminal (Caltex), where he assessed operations and administrative efficiency. State news agency Saba reported his emphasis on the ministry's commitment to supporting port authorities and enhancing maritime navigation to bolster economic activity and development.
Humaid urged port management to boost readiness, streamline processes, and accelerate operations to match vessel traffic. He also highlighted the critical need to upgrade equipment and navigation systems to increase daily workflow and attract more shipping lines.

The minister also called for swift action on studies and tenders for the maintenance and expansion of the internal heavy transport road, deemed vital for improving port services. Additionally, he directed the procurement of equipment to enhance port security and secure existing assets, aiming to boost operational efficiency and make the ports more appealing to international shipping.
