Two separate attacks by Houthi militants, designated as a terrorist group by the international community, have injured a key military commander and a local official in western Taiz governorate.

"Barran Press" correspondent reported that Brigadier General al-Majidi sustained minor injuries while five of his companions were injured during an Eid visit to army positions in the western fronts of Taiz city. Among the injured was a battalion operations officer, whose condition was described as critical. All injured individuals were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

In a separate incident, the Director General of Cairo District, Samir Abdel-Ilah, and several of his companions were injured in a Houthi attack west of Taiz city. A local source told "Bran Press" that Abdel-Ilah was injured by a Houthi projectile during a visit to an army position at the "old airport." The source confirmed that several of his companions were also injured in the attack.

These attacks come just days after the reopening of a major road east of Taiz city, ending a nine-year closure imposed by the Houthis. Taiz is Yemen's most populous governorate.
