Lightning Strikes Claim Two More Lives in Yemen, Bringing July Death Toll to 30

The death and injury of 3 citizens brings the number of victims of thunderbolt strikes to 30 dead and wounded since the beginning of this month

Two Yemeni citizens were killed and a third injured by lightning strikes in Sana'a and Dhamar governorates on Sunday, July 21, 2024, bringing the total number of casualties from lightning strikes this month to 30, according to local sources.

Sources told "Barran Press" that a lightning strike killed "Hamed Mohammed Al-Jahmi" and injured another individual while they were working on a farm in the "Al-Kharabah" area of "Al-Manar" district in Dhamar governorate.

Separately, another lightning strike claimed the life of 4-year-old "Naji Ali Mohammed Al-Faiq" while he was inside his home in "Kushar Beit Al-Faiq" village in "Bani Matar" district of Sana'a governorate, local sources reported.

Earlier this month, "Barran Press" reported the deaths of 19 individuals, including women and children, and injuries to eight others due to lightning strikes in several governorates. This brings the total number of casualties from lightning strikes to 21 dead and 9 injured since the beginning of July.
