Yemenia Airways announced on Sunday, July 28, 2024, the resumption of civilian flights from Sana'a International Airport to Cairo and India, starting this evening.
According to a statement released by the airline, seen by "Barran Press", flights from Sana'a to Cairo and back will operate daily, while flights from Sana'a to India and back will operate twice a week.
The statement confirmed that the opening of the Cairo and India routes is in accordance with the recent agreement announced by the UN envoy, emphasizing that flights to both destinations via Sana'a International Airport will commence this evening.
Earlier this month, Yemenia Airways announced the resumption of flights from Sana'a International Airport to Jordan, operating three flights daily, with discounted tickets available through Yemenia offices.
Last Tuesday, July 23, the office of the UN Special Envoy for Yemen announced an agreement between the internationally recognized Yemeni government and the Houthi group, designated as a terrorist organization by several countries, on several de-escalation measures related to the banking sector and Yemenia Airways.
The agreement included "the resumption of Yemenia Airways flights between Sana'a and Jordan, increasing the number of flights to three daily, and operating flights to Cairo and India daily or as needed."
