The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning (NCMEW) has issued a forecast for scattered to heavy thundershowers across 11 Yemeni governorates in the next 24 hours, starting Wednesday, September 4th, 2024.

According to the NCMEW's daily bulletin, monitored by "Barran Press", parts of Taiz, Lahj, Al-Dhale, Ibb, Dhamar, Rayma, Hajjah, Al-Mahweet, Sana'a, Amran, and Sa'ada are expected to experience varying levels of rainfall.

The center also anticipates scattered showers accompanied by occasional thunder in parts of Al-Bayda, Abyan, Shabwa, Hadhramaut, and Mahra.

Coastal areas are predicted to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with the possibility of scattered showers along the eastern and southern coastlines, parts of Tihamah Plain, and the Hodeidah governorate.

Strong to very strong winds, ranging from 35 to 45 knots, are anticipated around the Socotra archipelago, while moderate to strong winds are expected in the Gulf of Aden and along the eastern and southern coasts.

The NCMEW has advised citizens in areas expected to receive rainfall to avoid low-lying areas and flood channels and to take shelter during thunderstorms. Drivers on mountainous roads are urged to exercise caution due to reduced visibility caused by rain and dense low-lying clouds, and are advised to avoid crossing low-lying bridges during periods of heavy rainfall.
