The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has projected thunderstorms of varying intensity across several regions in 12 Yemeni provinces over the next 24 hours.
In its daily report seen by Barran Press, the center indicated that mountainous areas would experience relatively cool and clear weather during the night and early morning, transitioning to partly cloudy conditions with sporadic thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. Regions expected to be affected include the highlands of Al-Mahra, Hadramaut, Shabwa, Lahij, Taiz, Al-Dhali, and Ibb, along with scattered rainfall in Rima, Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, and the foothills of Tihama.
Coastal areas are forecasted to have partly to mostly cloudy skies, with the possibility of scattered rain in parts of the eastern and southwestern coasts and the Socotra Archipelago. Moderate winds may occasionally strengthen along the eastern coasts and around Socotra.
The National Center for Meteorology also anticipates fair to partly cloudy conditions in desert areas, with the potential for cumulonimbus clouds and scattered thunderstorms in parts of the deserts of Al-Mahra, Hadramaut, and Shabwa. Moderate winds may stir dust and sand in these regions.
